The Senior Hockey League was started in 1971 at the old Sun Valley Shopping Center in Concord. In 1974, the Dublin Iceland Rink ( MAP ) opened its doors and our league moved to the new facility due to its better hockey configuration. Although we use the name "Senior Hockey League", we are operating more like a pickup hockey league.

Currently, we play on Sunday and Wednesday nights.  On Sunday, we normally play at 9:30PM to 11:00PM all year round.  On Wednesday, we play from 8:30PM to 10:00PM, except for our summertime schedule, which normally starts at 7:15PM.

On each night, we accept walk on players as long as we have room (Sundays are normally not a problem).  Our cutoff is at 30 players, three full lines.  To sign up, just show up early and place your name on a sign up list.  The sign up list is normally created by the first person that arrives and is located on the small counter where the Blue Devils area is at (to the left of the vending machines - Click here to see photo of counter area).  If you're not sure, just ask someone who is getting dressed and I'm sure they'll point you in the right direction.

At present time, we charge $15 for Wednesday night play and $10 for Sunday night play (prices subject to change at anytime).  For those that are curious about the level of play, we typically divide the lines up based on everyone's level.  We have beginning, intermediate and advanced players so feel free to come out at any level you think you are at.  As for who's playing, we have players that are anywhere from 18 to 76 years young.  Female players are welcomed.

ALL PICK UP PLAYERS THAT PLAY WILL NEED TO HAVE THE APPROPRIATE JERSEY COLOR.  WE PREFER THAT YOU BRING A BLUE, RED AND WHITE JERSEY EACH NIGHT.  HOWEVER, IF YOU ONLY WANT TO BRING TWO JERSEYS, A WHITE JERSEY AND A BLACK JERSEY SHOULD SUFFICE.  IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE APPROPRIATE JERSEY COLOR OR CAN'T BORROW ONE, YOU MAY BE SENT HOME.

*** CHANGING BEFORE AND AFTER THE GAME - You must change in the two locker room areas before and after a game. If the locker areas are full, you may also change on the rink benches closest to the locker rooms. Do not change in any other area or else you will be suspended from future play.
